*CALL TO WORSHIP       Victor Han

Arise, shine, for your light has come!

The glory of the Lord has risen upon us.

Let us praise the Lord together.

The sun shall no longer be our light by day,

nor will the brightness of the moon shine on us,

for the Lord will be our light,

and our God will be our glory.

The Lord will be our everlasting light,

and our days of sorrow will end.

Come, let us sing to our light and salvation!

*HYMN No.547              For a Closer Walk with God

PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Loving God,

In Jesus Christ, your kingdom has drawn near and you have called us to repent.

Turn our hearts and minds back to you.

In Jesus Christ, your light has dawned on all of creation.

Forgive us when we choose to walk in the darkness.

In Jesus Christ, you call the nations to come and worship you.

Forgive us when we restrict access to you and your grace.

In Jesus Christ, you loosen the bonds of injustice and set your people free.

Forgive us when our actions harm and oppress.

In Jesus Christ, your good and perfect law is fulfilled.

Forgive us when we fail to live according to your will.

(Prayers of Silent Confession)

Kyrie (sung):

Choral Leader: Lord, have mercy.

Congregation: Lord, have mercy.

Christ, have mercy.

Christ, have mercy.

Lord, have mercy.

Lord, have mercy.

ASSURANCE OF PARDON/WISDOM FOR LIFE

Hear these words of Jesus:

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.

You are the salt of the earth. You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hid.

What does the LORD ask of us?

To do justice, love kindness and walk humbly with our God.

CHILDREN’S BLESSING

(Following the Children’s Blessing, kids are dismissed to Children at Worship. They can be picked up there following the worship service in Room 2D.)

ANTHEM           Peace Like a River      Arr. Charles Kirby

I've got peace like a river in my soul.

I've got love like a river in my soul.

I've got joy like a river in my soul.

I've got peace, love and joy in my soul.

PRAYER OF ILLUMINATION

God of light:

I delight to do your will; may your word dwell within our hearts.

I desire to see your face: reveal yourself to us today.
I want to hear your voice: speak, O Lord, for your servants are listening.

Amen.

CONFESSION OF FAITH

OFFERING OURSELVES AND OUR GIFTS

Offertory    In Remembrance     Buryl Red

In remembrance of me, eat this bread,

In remembrance of me, drink this wine.

In remembrance of me, pray for the time,

when God's own will is done.

In remembrance of me, heal the sick.

In remembrance of me, feed the poor.

In remembrance of me, open the door,

and let your brother in.

Take, eat, and be comforted,

Drink and remember, too

that this is my body and precious blood,

Shed for you.

In remembrance of me, search for truth.

In remembrance of me, always love.

In remembrance of me, don't look above,

but in your heart.

Look in your heart for God.

Do this in remembrance of me.

*Prayer of Dedication

SACRAMENT OF HOLY COMMUNION

*Communion HymN Take, O Take Me As I Am

(Congregation sings refrain - Choir sings verses)

Take, O take me as I am.

Summon out what I shall be.

Set your seal upon my heart

and live in me.

Strangers all by sin dispersed;

God, our mother, quench our thirst.

Thus is justice here rehearsed.

Now we pray by day and night,

keep our fast to clear our sight,

share our goods to set things right.

Strong and weak be here at home,

Bold or shy, here laugh, here groan.

Gospel weighs too much alone.

Invitation

Communion Prayer

The Lord be with you. And also with you.

Lift up your hearts. We lift them up to the Lord.

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.

It is right to give our thanks and praise.

Sanctus

Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God of hosts.

Heaven and earth are full of your glory.

Hosanna, hosanna in the highest.

Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.

Hosanna, hosanna in the highest.

Mystery of the Faith:

Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again.
