Gracious and loving God, through your son you have given us new life. We have experienced broken lives made whole, old wounds of alienation healed over, and tired spirits rejuvenated with new vision. You have given us purpose and opened our eyes to endless possibilities. Yet we still let doubt overcome hope, cynicism replace dedication and the impaired values of the world lead us instead of yours. Forgive us for those times when we forget that you are the center of our world and the purpose in our lives. Help us to move past the pessimism of today to a bright, new future with you at the heart of our world, our hopes and our dreams. Forgive us our doubts and gird us with the strength we need to live in the shadow of your love each and every day. And allow us, dear Father, to always see you standing beside us in all that we do each and every day. In your name we pray. Amen

You remember our labor and toil, brothers and sisters; we worked night and day, so that we might not burden any of you while we proclaimed to you the gospel of God. POSTLUDE
THE SEARCH COMMITTEE has unanimously recommended a candidate for Minister of Word and Sacrament to the Consistory. The Consistory unanimously approved the recommendation and has extended the call to the candidate.
He will preach at Church on the Hill at the November 23 service. We invite and urge all members and friends to come and meet our candidate.
Following the service, there will be a Congregational meeting for all to attend.
WE WELCOME TO OUR PULPIT the Rev. Adrienne Flipse Hausch. Rev. Hausch previously served as the Minister for Congregational Care, as well as other positions, at the Community Church of Douglaston. She is a practicing attorney as well as a Pastor and serves on the board of the Long Island Council of Churches, the WE CARE Fund of the Nassau County Bar Association and as a member of the Committees on Character and Fitness charged with approving candidates for admission to the Bar. She is a past member of the Commission for Judicial Business of the Reformed Church in America.
